The Studio
Fort Point's first artist-owned live/work studio building.
249 A St. is a co-op of artist residences inside of an eight-story warehouse originally constructed around 1900. In 1980, the artists formed the Fort Point Arts Community,Inc (FPAC) of South Boston as a non-profit 501C(3) organization. FPAC was established in order to secure permanent spaces for artists in the midst of light industry, businesses and residences. Over 300 artists now live and work in Fort Point and FPAC has served as a national model for artists organizations across the country.
Working with Gaby:
Gaby started doing photography professionally in 2023, but really it runs in her blood. With two artists as parents, she grew up thinking about visuals and what they mean. For a long time, her creativity took the form of performing arts (a lot of ballet and latin social dancing), but she always retained the joy of wandering in the New England woods or Boston city life with an old Nikon film camera with her dad and then reviewing them with a slide projector a month later.
A few fun facts about me: I have a B.A. and an M.A. because I thought I was going to work for an international aid NGO. I have a rescue pup who may be featured occasionally on my socials; Hans, mixed breed, 9yrs old. My family is partly from Argentina, and I speak some Spanish. I love to travel, design, and generally learning/reading!
Street parking is available on A St. There is also a parking lot across the street for $25 on weekdays and $8 on weekends. Use the call box, and we will buzz you in. There is an elevator through the door to the back of the hall.
